Teaching schedule 2023

February –

The Art of Prediction with Camelia Elias. This 3-week topical course focuses on the art of prediction with cards. The aim is to teach students to apply the Read like the Devil principles of reading cards to prediction. We focus on dynamic interpretations that rely on context and deductive analysis and make a difference between prediction and fortunetelling as storytelling. We look at different types of formal models of prediction and practice the art via Zoom live sessions.

March –

Evocation of Andromalius. This is a one-off event coinciding with the best time to conjure the 72nd demon of the Goetia. It takes place on Saturday, March 18, at 9PM, CPH time. For the duration of one hour, Camelia will say something about Goetic forces, and then invite Andromalius into a ritual space. So this is a lecture/workshop/ritual offering.

April –

Nonreading, the 3-year program focussing on cards and Zen, opens the doors to a new cohort. The intake of students for this program is based on a waitlist, as there is only a limited number of students who can get in. This is due to the format of the program which is based entirely on one-to-one instruction with Camelia Elias. The class forms on April 15.

May –

Read like the Devil Practice Club. The Read like the Devil website has been restructured for an educational purpose. It has now turned into a repository of knowledge and will function as an educational resource, gathering foundational texts written by Camelia Elias, here free for access. In addition, there is the possibility to also join a practice club on a subscription basis. The proposed practice follows a pragmatic approach: Camelia Elias will meet with students who wish to subscribe to the Read like the Devil Practice Club on a monthly basis, and for a short, yet powerful stint, everyone will just read the damn cards. The new website launches on May 25, with the first live session taking place on June 25th.

June – postponed

Tarot and Film. This topical course is a 4-week course in using the cards as a palimpsest onto another art form. We look at films. Not films that merely feature the tarot or other forms of divination in them, as they're all quite lame, but films that display a deep understanding of the poetry in the human condition, something that the cards are good at highlighting. The aim is to probe the connection between moving pictures and the dynamic movement of the tarot cards in divination for a purpose.

July throughout December

Three Foundation Courses with Bent Sørensen. This is a three-module course that runs over 21 weeks (late July through December 2022). The class is based on Camelia Elias’ trilogy of books, Read like the Devil, with Bent Sørensen as the course instructor. The course is capped at 50 students due to the teacher’s commitment to give feedback on every single student contribution.

October

Tarot for yourself. This is a three-week course in reading cards with view to practicing the art of knowing yourself. An impossible task. But still. We cover three topics: character, fear, and desire. Camelia will introduce the students to both classic and original spreads, all dealing with questions that pertain to self-knowledge. The course opens on October 22, with the first live session taking place on November 5.

Mix and match –

As you’ve noticed, some courses are shorter and others are longer. Mix and match and combine them across as you wish. They are suited for all who are curious and want to learn something that’s geared towards mastery. We are not interested in delivering anything that does not have that ambition, to master what we invest our time in to cultivate. The team at Aradia Academy will be delighted to have you on board and to work with you.

Keep going, Camelia, Bent, and Frigg
